While the authors were visiting Athens in 2006 and 2005, respectively, they interviewed Professor Themistocles M. Rassias concerning his contributions to Mathematics. This article presents those interviews.

Existence of Global Solutions for Impulsive Functional Differential Equations with Nonlocal Conditions

In this paper, we study the existence of global solutions for a class of impulsive abstract functional differential equation with nonlocal conditions. The results are obtained by using the Leray-Schauder alternative fixed point theorem. An example is provided to illustrate the theory.

Rationality of the Moduli Space of Stable Pairs over a Complex Curve

Let X be a smooth complex projective curve of genus g ≥ 2. A pair on X is formed by a vector bundle E → X and a global non-zero section φ ∈ H(E). There is a concept of stability for pairs depending on a real parameter τ , giving rise to moduli spaces Mτ (r,Λ) of τ -stable pairs of rank r and fixed determinant Λ.
